NALMS Certification Program

shadow-in-the-lake-1574339The aim of our Certification Program is to recognize people like you that have special training and experience in lake management. If your work has a direct impact on lakes you should look into becoming certified as a Lake Manager or Lake Professional. We also have a Provisional status in case you don’t yet meet the experience requirement.

What is a Lake Manager?

Lake Managers are directly involved in managing ponds, lakes, reservoirs and other bodies of water including their watersheds. Lake Managers make recommendations to governing groups and implement proper methods that affect the quality and use of these water bodies. And Lake Managers have satisfied the NALMS requirements intended to properly perform the above duties with maximum competency.

What is a Lake Professional?

Lake Professionals are also involved in managing ponds, lakes, reservoirs and other bodies of water including their watersheds. However Lake Professionals focus on providing the critical technical or socio/economic data used in making decisions that affect the quality and use of these water bodies. And Lake Professionals have also satisfied the NALMS requirements intended to properly perform the above duties with maximum competency.
