The NALMS Board of Directors is working to assess how the federal election outcome may influence both lake management in the USA and the capacity of NALMS.
NALMS had begun the process of planning the 2018 National Water Quality Monitoring Conference (NWQMC) with our federal partners and will continue to work to assess support for the conference.

"Measuring Secchi Depth"
NALMS is seeking videos of "Measuring Secchi Depth" for inclusion in the video series hosted on the NALMS YouTube channel and website.
In addition to the basic requirements (which can be found in the Video Evaluation Rubric), this video must also cover:
Preparation steps - marking the rope to which the Secchi disk is attached at appropriate intervals
Safety precautions and procedures, including boating safety if applicable
Appropriate location of sampling in relation to the sun

Only electronic submissions will be accepted. You must be a NALMS member to submit an entry.
Photos should be of sufficient resolution to print from (approximately 300 dpi at 8.5” x 11”).
Maximum of one submission per person.

Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa Schulte and I am thrilled to be joining the NALMS staff, starting September 6, as the Director of Marketing & Membership. I graduated with a BS in Professional Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2011 and have been employed with the La Crosse County University of Wisconsin-Extension office for the last two years. A step-by-step guide for data submission has been posted! The guide can be found on the Participate page and screen shots are included to make the data-submission process (via the Secchi Dip-In Website) as painless as possible.
You may also submit data while in the field, via the Global Lake Ecological Observatory Network’s (GLEON) Lake Observer App. Lake Observer provides video guides for using the Lake Observer App. Please, submit via the app or the Secchi Dip-In website, not both!
