NPR’s Here & Now Highlighted National Lake Appreciation Month

Hello Secchi Dip-In Volunteers,   Thank you to all volunteers who alerted us about issues submitting data via the Secchi Dip-In website! Late Monday evening, it was determined all accounts are currently unable to submit data to the Secchi Dip-In website. NALMS’ Response to Recent Federal Election

Summary of NALMS’ response to recent federal election The NALMS Board of Directors is working to assess how the federal election outcome may influence both lake management in the USA and the capacity of NALMS. NALMS had begun the process of planning the 2018 National Water Quality Monitoring Conference (NWQMC) with our federal partners and will continue to work to assess support for the conference. Currently NALMS operates at a significant deficit during single conference years (NALMS only). These losses have been offset by net gains during 2-conference years (NALMS and NWQMC). The annual election for officers and directors is an important way for NALMS members to provide input in the management of the Society. Our officers and directors are all volunteers who serve without pay. NALMS Welcomes New Director of Marketing and Membership

Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa Schulte and I am thrilled to be joining the NALMS staff, starting September 6, as the Director of Marketing & Membership. I graduated with a BS in Professional Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2011 and have been employed with the La Crosse County University of Wisconsin-Extension office for the last two years. I am excited to move to Madison, begin my NALMS career, and learn more about lake management and conservation. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you!
