Happy Earth Day! A note from NALMS President, Victoria Chraibi: This year, it is relevant to reflect upon the history of Earth Day. In response to environmental protests in the 1960s, Senator Gaylord Nelson founded Earth Day as a day to raise awareness about environmental issues and to advocate for a cleaner, healthier planet. The first Earth Day was held on April 22, 1970, as a “teach-in” on environmental issues. An estimated 20 million Americans participated!
