Why be a member of NALMS?

To be part of an international effort to support sound stewardship of our lakes, reservoirs, and watersheds! NALMS is looking forward to a bright future, tackling important issues facing our freshwater bodies today, providing our members and the general public with timely and important resources, and growing our membership on an international scale.

What makes NALMS unique?

  • Our membership. As a NALMS member, you have access to hundreds of others who share your passion and concern for lakes and reservoirs, including professionals, agencies, and like-minded citizens.
  • Our annual international symposium. A perfect example of our mission in action: bringing people together to share advancements, new technologies, and stories in lake management.
  • Our student-led initiatives. NALMS students are tomorrow’s lake leaders. They learn and grow with our members, attend our annual conferences, and provide a fresh perspective.
  • Our variety of programs. The Secchi Dip-In, Lakes Appreciation Month, Inland HABs, professional certification … just to name a few. These important programs help us forge connections and partnerships to better serve our organization’s mission.
  • Our publications. Professional publications such as Lake and Reservoir Management, a peer-reviewed journal featuring the latest science and management strategies for water bodies, as well as Lakeline, our quarterly e-magazine that features topics of general interest in an easy-to-understand format.
