Artist Eric Anthony Berdis, invites all to celebrate the season with a bug making workshop in the Museum’s Frenzel Gallery from 11 to 3pm, Sunday, June 24th!. Enjoy free admission to the museum, get out of the heat, and enjoy the amazing collection and featured exhibitions.

Don’t Let Them Clip Your Tiny Little Insect Wings is a collaborative project Berdis started in 2018 connecting audiences to queer histories of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt and Safe Zone Training that are touchstones in his practice. Eric uses the metaphor of the bug which are often seen as pest and unwanted, and as a symbol of resilience and vital to the biodiversity of our earth. In the workshop participants are invited to create a bug as a symbol of Pride for themselves.

Eric Anthony Berdis is Erie Artist and Culture’s 2023 Lydia McCain Artist Fellow, and a featured artist as a part of the 100th Annual Nicole and Harry Martin Spring Show in our Main Gallery. Select bugs from Eric’s past workshop are featured in the Spring Show exhibit. Workshop is free and for all-ages.
