SUMMARY OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to manage and direct the operations, maintenance, public safety, security, public recreations, and budget development/execution of the properties and facilities of the Brazos River Authority (BRA) lake project area. This is accomplished by overseeing lake operations and maintenance activities, managing various lake projects; developing and implementing dam safety and security plans; coordinating flood releases; providing customer service to the general public, providing media relations; residing in BRA housing; and any other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Successful applicant should have lake operational expertise, an environmental background and lake facilities management experience. Must also have the advanced writing and reading skills along with intermediate mathematical abilities. This position requires strong communication and public speaking skills.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field of lake operations with 7 years of experience including 5 years supervisory experience. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor’s degree.

SALARY: $98,016 to 127,421 annually. This is an exempt position.
BRAZOS RIVER AUTHORITY, EOE: The BRA was created by the Texas Legislature in 1929 and exists to develop, manage and protect the water resources of the Brazos River Basin. Today, BRA’s staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
