Chris Doyle\, Director of Biology with Solitude Lake Management\, will provide a discussion of the general approach to hydrilla monitoring\, and will then provide details on the specific approaches developed for three distinct sites: the Hudson River and New Croton Reservoir in New York\, and the Delaware and Raritan Canal in New Jersey. DESCRIPTION:The 2018 Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference will be a Joint Conference with the North American Invasive Species Management Association \n​The Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference (UMISC) is a biennial conference. The Conference host organizations and organizing committees are pleased to join with the North American Invasive Species Management Association (NAISMA) to organize the largest invasive species conference in North America at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester\, MN – October 15-18\, 2018. \nThe goal of UMISC is to strengthen management of invasive species\, especially prevention\, control\, and containment. Invasive species research\, prevention\, and management has seen great strides but much work still must be done.

SUMMARY:NH LAKES 2018 Lakes Congress
DESCRIPTION:The 2018 Lakes Congress—our 25th annual education\, training\, and networking event—is designed for lake and other natural resource stewards\, lake managers\, business leaders\, and municipal and political leaders to gain knowledge and skills to educate\, advocate\, and organize to protect the New Hampshire’s 1\,000 lakes and ponds. This year’s event will celebrate the history of lake culture in New Hampshire while specifically focusing on current and emerging threats that must be addressed during the next 25 years to preserve our lakes. The event will be held at the exquisite Church Landing Inn at Mills Falls in Meredith along the shoreline of Lake Winnipesaukee on the evening of Thursday\, May 31\, and all-day on Friday\, June 1. The two-day event will draw approximately 250 attendees. \nThe event will kick-off with a fascinating presentation—“Summer Camps on New Hampshire’s Lakes: Roots of An Iconic American Experience”—given by the curatorial team from the Museum of the White Mountains. \nKen Wagner\, President and Manager of Water Resource Services\, and former President of the North American Lake Management Society\, will kick off Friday’s session with a dynamic keynote address “Climate Change and Lakes: What You Really Need to Know.”

DESCRIPTION:Our upcoming 42nd annual meeting to be held January 25-27\, 2018 at the Hilton College Station and Conference Center in College Station\, Texas. TCAFS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to:\nThe conservation\, development and wise use of fisheries and aquatic resources\, promotion of all branches of fisheries and aquatic sciences\, and exchange and dissemination of knowledge about fishes\, fisheries\, and aquatic natural resources. \nEach year\, students and professionals are invited to submit abstracts for presenting oral presentations and posters that highlight fisheries projects and research. A major highlight of our meeting is to present talented students with scholarships as well as awards to fellow members for their achievements at our annual banquet.
