Affiliate Organizations
NALMS has membership representation in approximately 20 countries around the world. These members, individually or in the form of local lake associations, frequently come together and form officially sanctioned NALMS affiliates. Affiliate membership affords members the opportunity to come together and share information, but primarily to strengthen the message that lakes and reservoirs must be wisely managed. NALMS facilitates the exchange of information between affiliates by coordinating the distribution of affiliate newsletters to all affiliates. This permits affiliates to learn the concerns and challenges being experienced by other affiliates and receive new ideas that are working well in other parts of North America. NALMS also offers many workshops designed to assist affiliates in their formative and growing stages. These workshops are available at the regional and international symposia. NALMS has a structured committee system exclusively for affiliates. This volunteer committee is comprised of individuals from around North America who are willing to be of assistance at any time in areas ranging from association management to scientific responses on lake concerns.
