NALMS Publications

NALMS produces two quarterly publications: LakeLine Magazine (which targets the general public and lake users) and Lake & Reservoir Management (a journal of peer-reviewed scientific papers targeting a largely technical audience of academics and lake managers). These publications are included in NALMS membership. Visit our membership levels and benefits page for details.

Lake & Reservoir Management functions as a record of advances in lake management and a resource for lake managers, researchers, and policy makers. Lake and Reservoir Management publishes original studies relevant to lake and reservoir management. Papers address the management of lakes and reservoirs, their watersheds and tributaries, along with limnology and ecology needed for sound supervision of these systems. Also included are case studies that advance the science of lake management and papers that explore the economic, social, regulatory, and policy aspects of lake management. In addition to full length papers, shorter notes that add to an important and documented base of knowledge or that convey important early results of long-term studies are also published.
