LAKELINE SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
Submission deadlines are: Jan 1; April 1; July 1; and Oct 1.
- Article manuscripts are best submitted electronically attached to an e-mail to the Editor, Bill Jones (email@example.com).
- MS Word is preferred using Times New Roman 12-point font.
- Most articles that are printed in LakeLine Magazine run about 2,000 words of text, more or less.
- Limit the number of text citations and references used. This is not a peer-reviewed publication. Excessive text citations tend to distract non-scientific readers. We prefer to include no more than five total references at the end of the article. Use the following format for your cited references:

- We encourage the use of images, photographs, and figures to help illustrate articles. Figures and images must be submitted as separate .tif or .jpg files. They must NOT be imbedded within the text document, i.e., MS Word or sent in a PowerPoint file. We prefer *.tif or *.jpg format for all images and graphics. Please, send NO *.wmf or *.emf files. These don’t convert well to our software.
- Photos and images should have a resolution of at least 300 dpi at full, published size. Check the ‘properties’ of the image to insure that it has 300 dpi at 4” by 5” size (around 1600 by 1200 pixels). Images within a Word file or extracted from PowerPoint or the Internet will NOT work as these software programs limit the resolution of images to 72 or 96 dpi. They look fine on your computer monitor (because monitors only have 72 or 96 dpi), may even print nicely on a typical color printer, but they will not print well on a printing press.
- We print all images in color.
- Please include a high-quality color photo and brief bio for each author.
- Figures (bar graphs, x-y graphs, pie charts, etc) are best sent as MS Excel files. This way, we can adjust any screening or shading for optimal printing resolution.
- Please create all tables in Word…not Excel.
