NALMS Programs
The North American Lake Management Society (NALMS) is a group of like-minded individuals working to protect and manage aquatic resources with a focus on lakes and
reservoirs. NALMS was
founded in 1980 when a group of aquatic scientists realized that
information was lacking on how to use science to actually manage lakes
and reservoirs. Now, almost 30 years later, NALMS is a thousand members
strong, and growing.
Our members are as diverse as the lakes we try to protect and manage and as such NALMS is made up of lakeside homeowners, anglers, citizens, scientists, local, state and federal professionals, and many academic professionals and students. Diversity is our greatest strength. Armed with this, NALMS brings a collective wisdom to bear on lake management issues through our programs which benefit our membership and mission. NALMS Programs include but are not limited to the following:
