Programs & Projects
Each year NALMS offers a diverse array of programs and projects tailored to have strategic impact on advancement of lake science and management which are made possible by the generous support of donors. The offerings typically include programs and projects supporting lake management science and data sharing, professional development, educational materials and tools for lake associations and lake managers, policy and partnerships for the sustainability of lakes and water quality.
NALMS Annual International Symposium
The annual symposium brings together hundreds of lake managers, lake professionals, lake association members, environmental scientists and engineers, vendors and others to share new research, restoration results, water quality and related initiatives, regulatory updates, training and more. Each year, our sponsors and exhibitors make the NALMS conference a success by supporting travel grants for speakers and students, workshops, and conference activities and products.
Patron of NALMS
This very special category of sponsorship is reserved for donors who understand that one of the biggest challenges faced by nonprofits is the unglamorous task of funding operating costs to keep the organization running smoothly and efficiently so that its ability to deliver on its mission is maximized. Donations in any amount that are not assigned to a particular category of Symposium or program support will receive this designation. If desired, benefits will flow to the sponsor in accordance with the monetary value of the contribution received.
Gifts In-Kind for NALMS
Sponsorships may also be effectuated through non-monetary gifts (such as, for example, furniture, supplies, printing, food, meeting space, workshops) which relieve NALMS of the monetary cost of the resources needed to accomplish its mission through its Annual International Symposium, programs and operations. Benefits for in-kind contributions by businesses or agencies will flow to the sponsor in accordance with the documented monetary value of the contribution received.
