PUBLICATIONS COMMITTEE
Board Oversight: Region 9 Director Imad Hannoun
Publications Committee Description
Objective
The Publications Committee is responsible for maintaining the quality of all NALMS publications. This refers primarily to the major publication initiatives of the Society, namely the Journal Lake and Reservoir Management, and Lakeline.
Organization
The committee chair and members are appointed by the President.
Activities and Procedures
The committee chair should work closely with the NALMS LakeLine and Journal editors to ensure technical excellence in these flagship NALMS publications
LakeLine shall be prepared and published by the NALMS business office, under the direction of the LakeLine editor. The magazine shall be published on a timely basis, with a target date of the first day of each stated month of publication.
The NALMS journal, Lake and Reservoir Management, is now an electronic format journal and all aspects of publication and distribution are managed by Taylor and Francis. NALMS maintains both an editor and a redactory editor to oversee content in the journal. The Journal shall be published on a timely basis. Both the NALMS LakeLine and Journal are now offered in electronic versions through the NALMS website. Some hard copies of both publications will continue to be printed and mailed to libraries and members who prefer paper copies. L&RM is currently managed by Taylor and Francis.
Note that certain aspects of technical transfer which are overseen by the outreach committee may involve publications that are also managed by the publications committee from time to time. The NALMS bookstore publications for example may be managed at times by activities in both the Publications and Outreach Committees. It is envisioned however that the publications offered for sale in the bookstore will be managed by the Outreach Committee.
